Salary and Benefits
Successful candidates will enjoy a competitive compensation package, including:
- Basic Salary: Ksh 39,700 – Ksh 52,960 per month (CSG 10)
- House Allowance: Ksh 8,133 – Ksh 16,500 per month
- Commuter Allowance: Ksh 5,000 per month
- Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
- Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year

Minimum Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science Degree in any of the following fields: Medicine, Nursing, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Biochemistry, Engineering, or Occupational Safety and Health from a recognized university in Kenya.
- Professional Registration: Engineers must be registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya, and Nursing Officers must be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
As an Occupational Health & Safety Services Officer, you will be entering at the training level and will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Compiling Safety and Health Information: Collecting and documenting data on safety and health hazards in various workplaces.
- Maintaining Accident Statistics: Keeping detailed records of accidents, dangerous occurrences, and occupational diseases.
- Processing Registrations: Handling applications for the registration of workplaces and employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Work Injury Benefits Act.
- Work Injury Claims: Processing claims related to work injuries.
- Medical Examinations: Preparing workers for medical examinations and carrying out these examinations.
- First Aid Services: Documenting the presence and utilization of first aid services in the workplace and manning occupational health clinics.
- Counseling Services: Providing counseling on basic occupational health issues.
- Training: Conducting training sessions on occupational safety and health.
